My production of Copenhagen by Michael Frayn has ended its highly successful run at the Radius Gallery in Santa Cruz. We sold out 6 of our 8 performances and garnered standing ovations at 6 of the performances. The audience reaction was wonderful with kudos to the entire cast (Lucien Leutzinger played Werner Heisenberg, Mindy Pedlar played Margrethe Bohr, and I played Niels Bohr). We did not get a review in a local paper, but the Monterey Bay Performing Arts Newsletter sent Philip Pearce to review the show. His glowing review is posted on the front page of this site. It is possible that the show will see one further performance. A Professor Emeritus in Physics from UCSC saw the show and was so taken by it that he wants to try to get it produced on the campus. We'll see how that works out. It would be fun and fairly easy to move the show, but a lot of logistics would need to be worked out. Of course, as successful as the show was, it still did not break even! But that really can't matter when you have a show that is so very well received. (Photo credit: janamarcus.com)
